Mark your calendars for a dazzling evening at the BRIT Awards 2024 with Mastercard. Pop sensations Dua Lipa and Kylie Minogue are geared up to perform the opening and closing act at the glorious event to be held at London’s The O2 arena this forthcoming Saturday.
Renowned television personalities, Maya Jama, Roman Kemp, and Clara Amfo, will be revelling the stage as the hosts, sharing screen space with a multitude of guest presenters throughout the night.
Both Dua and Kylie are set to round off the evening with impeccable performances, sharing the stage with Ellie Goulding, Calvin Harris, Raye, and Becky Hill alongside the musical duo, Chase & Status.
Adding to the bill’s allure, the awards presentation will feature personalities like Kingsley Ben-Adir, Green Day, Charli XCX, Ashley Walters, Joe Keery, Aitch, Jaime Winstone, Jonathan Bailey, Luke Evans, and Marisa Abel from the critically acclaimed ‘Amy Winehouse’ film ‘Back to Black’.
During this illustrious event, Kylie is to be anointed with the much sought-after โGlobal Iconโ award, while Dua will compete for the titles of ‘Song Of The Year’ and ‘Artist Of The Year’.
Never at a loss for words, Kylie expressed her joy and stated, “I am beyond thrilled to receive the highest accolade from the organizers, which is reserved for truly exceptional artists. Having sold over 80M records globally and having received three BRIT awards since my first nomination in 1989, I am ecstatic to be rejoining this incredible lineup of artists.”
Kylie further added, “The UK has always felt like my second home, and the BRITs holds a very special place in my heart. I have some unforgettable memories from past yearsโ awards, and I am all set to create some more stellar ones this year.”
The BRITs Icon is an honor bestowed upon highly accomplished artists, with the previous recipients being globally celebrated personalities like Elton John, Robbie Williams, David Bowie, and Taylor Swift.
Earlier this week, the organizers confirmed Tate McRae as the final performer for the starry night. McRae’s ‘greedy’ has earned her a nomination in the category ‘International Song of the Year’, as it continues to rock the UK Top 3 and US Billboard Global 200 charts at the #1 spot.
Anticipations are high for a spectacular performance by Calvin and Ellie, as they join hands for the first time ever, delighting fans with their super-hit track ‘Miracle’. The duo’s prior collaboration includes the smash-hits ‘I Need Your Love’ in 2012 and ‘Outside’ in 2014.
Fans of drum and bass are in for a special treat as Becky Hill joins forces with Chase and Status for an unforgettable performance. Both acts have been nominated for ‘Best Dance Act’ and ‘Group of the Year’ respectively. Having premiered at the BRITs in 2023 alongside David Guetta, Becky expressed her excitement for her upcoming performance with Chase and Status.
