The renowned actress cum writer, Megan Fox, is sharing an intimately poignant part of her past โ she encountered an ectopic pregnancy at an early age.
Recently, Fox chose to discuss an overlooked chapter of her life during a conversation with WWD. While reflecting on her newly released poetry anthology, titled Pretty Boys Are Poisonous, Fox, aged 37, shed light on the distress of undergoing a miscarriage while engaged to her fiancรฉ Machine Gun Kelly, whose actual name is Colson Baker.
On elaborating her experience with this particular kind of pregnancy loss, Fox revealed that she had borne other unspoken adversities in her life.
She stated, โThat ordeal was significantly tougher than I had ever imagined. I have spent hours pondering – why was it like that? What singled out this difficulty for me? When I was younger, I had an ectopic pregnancy, and Iโve had other things that Iโd rather not share, for fear of stirring outrage.โ
โBut, Iโve confronted other comparable challenges, but none with someone I loved so deeply,โ Fox further added.
The Mayo Clinic explains an ectopic pregnancy as a situation where the fertilized ovum lodges itself somewhere outside the uterus, most commonly on the inner lining of a fallopian tube. The pregnancy cannot proceed normally because the fertilized egg is not equipped for survival outside the uterus.
Fox’s family includes three sons, Journey (7), Bodhi (9), and Noah (11), all of whom she co-parents with her ex-husband, Brian Austin Green.
The actress publicly discussed her miscarriage for the first time in November, an event she addressed in two poems from her book.
In concession, she expressed, โIโve never been through anything like that in my life. I have three kids, so this was an extremely hard time for both of us. This incident sent us on an intense journey, together and apart, trying to comprehend, โWhat is the significance of this?โ and โWhy did this occur?โโ during an interview segment on Good Morning America.
Fox dedicated passages in her poetry collection to an ultrasound image of a baby girl, she confines the sorrow of lost possibilities within phrases like, โmaybe if you hadnโtโฆ maybe if I hadโฆโ
In a different section of her book, Fox wrote, โI want to hold your hand / hear your laugh,โ and, a bit later, โbut now / I have to say / goodbye.โ Another poignant verse related to visualizing holding a baby โas they rip you from my insides.โ
Please, let me know what it takes,โ wrote Fox, โTell me please / what is the ransom / for her soul?โ
Fast forward to May 2022, her fiancรฉ, Machine Gun Kelly, dedicated his Billboard Music Awards performance of his song โTwin Flameโ to Fox, sharing, โAnd this is for our unborn child.โ
