On her recent Parisian night out, Julia Fox captivated onlookers with her distinctively fashion-forward choices. Donning a see-through dress crafted from unconventional materials such as melted plastic and hair, Fox reaffirmed her label as a bona fide fashionista.
A head turner at the Cannes red carpet, the 33-year-old actress and model pushed the fashion envelope even further in Paris, catching all eyes with her stunningly audacious outfit. Showing off her toned figure, the Uncut Gems star wasn’t shy about leaving little to the viewer’s imagination.
Completing the ensemble, Fox coupled her figure-hugging ultra short dress with black heels adorned with hanging fabric. She accessorized with a matching purple bag, also seemingly made of plastic.
Complementing her daring outfit, her makeup palette was bold and fierce with shades of purple and silver, sharply drawn eyeliner, pencil-thin eyebrows, and bluish-purple lipstick. Her luscious brunette locks styled in a contemporary wet-look added to her overall glamour.
Unsurprisingly, Fox isn’t only winning accolades for her fashion sensibilities. While at Cannes, she dropped hints about a new movie she’s working on, both as an actress and at the scripting helm. The forthcoming movie is titled Lipstick Palm, and she’s in the pre-production phase with her friend Sara Apple. From her descriptions, it sounds like an over-the-top blend of Weekend At Bernie’s and Spring Breakers.
Fox’s cinema background includes prominent roles in Uncut Gems and No Sudden Move. However, Lipstick Palm will see her exploring the other side of the camera and trying her hand at directing.
Speaking candidly during an interview on a Cannes yacht, Fox described Lipstick Palm’s protagonists as two girls, classic LA types. One wishes to be an actress, whereas the other is what could be ironically described as a ‘diluted’ nepo baby, due to her father’s numerous children. The plot also encompasses elements of addiction recovery struggles and has a significant sugar daddy character.
The plot thickens with the intriguing mention of a dead body involved – a seemingly clear nod to the Weekend at Bernie’s concept. Being a Hollywood writer seems to be a role that she’s comfortable performing, joking that her traits of effective dictatorship might indeed serve her well as a director.
Her belief in staying focused and ‘a little bit delusional’ has helped her achieve great heights. A staunch believer in her ambition, Fox holds that having a smattering of overconfidence aligns one towards life goals.
While Fox may be a successful actress and blossoming writer-director, she also acknowledges her personal evolution. The mother of a two-year-old, and among other things formerly known for dating Kanye West, Fox says she feels different, even compared to just last year. Her continual growth as a person and artist is unmistakable, and we cannot wait to see what she has in store for us, both on and off the red carpet.
