Dua Lipa opens up about her love for Anwar Hadid in a radiant British Vogue cover shoot. A beautiful glimpse into their romance and happiness. –

Dua Lipa has wowed on the February 2021 cover of British Vogue with a collection of different cropped hairstyles.

The One Kiss hitmaker, 25, also spoke about boyfriend Anwar Hadid, saying that she tries to balance ‘being so excited and in love’ while keeping their romance private.

For her cover look, Dua looked incredible as she wore a peroxide blonde cropped wig for the smouldering shoot.

The Don’t Start Now hitmaker showcased her washboard abs in a tiny blue patterned bralette.

The singer teamed the item of clothing with a pair of matching trousers with a gold buckle belt to cinch in her svelte waist.

Alongside the stunning pH๏τoshoot, Dua also spoke about her romance with Anwar, 21. They first got together in June 2019 and he is the younger brother of supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid.

The singer said that she tries to balance ‘being so excited and in love’ while keeping their romance private.

She said of posting their relationship on Instagram: ‘We have all these incredible memories and experiences, and if there’s something that we want to share together, then OK that’s fun.’

Dua added: ‘But at the same time, we’re quite private – we’ll only show you as much as we want you to see.

‘It’s a little bit of give and take, trying to find the right balance of being so excited and being in love, and wanting to share that with the people around me, but at the same time not wanting to put too much out there.

‘I want to be able to just be happy in this relationship without having other people’s opinions.’

Dua also said that her home life is ‘really normal’ and that her successful singing career doesn’t ‘define my circle’.

She said: ‘My home life is really normal. The people I surround myself with have known me for the longest time. My job doesn’t define my circle, and that makes a world of difference.’

Elsewhere, Dua, who has had a busy few weeks appearing on Saturday Night Live, hosting her Studio 2054 virtual gig and performing at Billboard Women in Music, spoke about her recent album Future Nostalgia. It was released in March.

The singer said that she had to ‘fight inner demons’ as she wanted to sing songs about heartbreak but equally at the same time was feeling happy in her life.

She said: ‘I had to fight inner demons. I wanted to write songs that were more sad, more about heartbreak, because I thought that writing happy songs would turn into cheesy songs.

‘I had to fight that because I was like, “I am happy. I deserve to be happy.” I should be able to write about that without the fear of feeling like I’m compromising my authenticity because I’m not crying about something or someone.’

Talking about women in the music industry, Dua added: ‘In a perfect world, we wouldn’t have to prove ourselves so much to the point that maybe we run ourselves into the ground of being like, “I must be heard”.

‘But that is the world we’re in right now.’

Dua was born in London, but moved back to Kosovo with her Albanian parents when she was 11. She attended the Mileniumi i Trete school in Pristina from the age of 11 to 15, before moving back to London to pursue her pop career.

Talking about being troubled by the anti-immigration rhetoric, the singer said: ‘People don’t leave their home country unless they have to a lot of the time. To save their families, to try and get a better life.

‘People want to be where their family is, where their home is, where they speak the language that is native to them, where they have their own culture.’

As well as her stunning pH๏τoshoot and interview, Dua appeared in a fun video for the publication’s new home school series, Vogue U, where she teaches fans how to dance.

In the clip, she jokes: ‘For as long as I can remember, people have said to me: “Dua, you were born to move”, “Dua, you’re such a natural performer” and “Dua, we will never be able to dance as beautiful as you.”

‘I want to say to you today, “No, you’re right, you almost certainly never will but that’s no reason not to try! I’m Dua Lipa and I’m going to teach you how to dance!”‘

Dua and Anwar first got together in June 2019 and the singer has since become close with the Hadid family.

The couple adopted their beloved pet pooch, Dexter, from the Labelle Foundation in Los Angeles on July 31.

Dua spent Christmas with Anwar’s model sisters Gigi, 25, and Bella Hadid, 24. Also in attendance were his parents Yolanda and Mohammed, Gigi’s partner Zayn Malik and their three-month-old daughter.

More recently, Dua and Anwar have jetted to Mexico for a sun-drenched getaway to ring in the New Year.

It is a well-deserved break for the singer with December being a busy month for the star, with her performing at a warehouse in the UK for her Studio 2054 virtual gig.

She was joined by a number of guest performers during the event including Kylie Minogue, Elton John, FKA twigs, Bad Bunny and Miley Cyrus. The show broke online records, with five million views.

Dua also put on show-stopping performance as she sang a stripped-down rendition of track, Boys Will Be Boys, at the virtual Billboard Women in Music event.

The British star, whose album Future Nostalgia is nominated for the 2021 Grammy Awards’ coveted Album Of The Year prize, later took home the Powerhouse Award.

Dua also made an appearance as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live.
