Megan Fox made heads turn in a bold outfit featuring a semi-transparent brown top as she showed up in New York City. This appearance followed the launch of her latest poetry book, “Pretty Boys Are Poisonous”.
The 37-year-old celebrity was all smiles as she arrived for her book talk on Tuesday evening, having recently revealed a ten-week miscarriage she had with her fiancé, Machine Gun Kelly, and her escape from several toxic relationships with high-profile individuals over the years.
On her way to the venue, Racket, amidst eager autograph collectors, the mother of three sported a daring tank top teamed with a lengthy leather skirt.
The stunning star, who introduced a vibrant red hair makeover in September, enhanced her daring outfit with black latex boots and a glamorous makeup ensemble.
Fox was seen holding a copy of her poignant and intense poetic anthology, containing over 70 poems, which made a luminous debut at the prime spot on Amazon’s Best Sellers chart in the Poetry by Women category.
According to her book’s introduction, her poems were born from suppressed feelings of solitude, torment, self-injury, desperation, longing, agitation, fury, and general misery. Fox has delivered the narration for the Audible audio version, a 38-minute recital.
Among the poem titles are “Lessons in Hot-Boy Demonology”, “It’s Giving Patrick Bateman”, and “The Avarice Pursuit of Money Power and Glory”.
“Some of the poems contain elements reminiscent of a Grimm’s fairy tale, while others have the same purpose as memes in online culture. All of it is something women can relate to,” she shared during a conversation with People magazine.
Embracing authorship granted her “freedom”, allowing her to escape the male-dominated narrative constraints of her acting career. “Poetry provides a much-needed space for catharsis through art,” she divulged.
Nonetheless, she confessed to cautiously selecting what to share with her editor, as she considered the majority of her work to be excessively graphic and unsettling for her audience.
In her recent interview on Good Morning America, Megan spoke about previous associations with renowned individuals kept under wraps. “I had connections with famous individuals that were less than positive, yet these relationships remain private,” she revealed.
Megan expressed the driving need to pen poetry about these experiences, describing them as buried narratives that, if kept within, would have caused her emotional distress.
The “Jennifer’s Body” actress confirmed that some parts of her book draw from her Hollywood experiences through the lens of metaphors, emphasising that they are indeed based on her real-life encounters.
