In the glamorous world of Hollywood, Megan Fox was a phenomenon that was both intriguing and relentless. She ruled the roost completely – she reigned supremely in every “Most Attractive Women” list, her name echoed around every corner, was whispered in every ear. However, her sudden disappearance might be attributed to a few ‘inflammatory’ comments she did not hesitate to make in 2009.
One of the climactic highlights of her career was her outstanding performance in the action blockbuster “Transformers”. Sharing the spotlight with her was her co-star Shia LaBeouf, with the film premiering in 2007.
After reprising her role in the 2009 sequel “Revenge of the Fallen”, she, quite surprisingly, was not cast in the third sequel. The removal was an aftermath of an audacious interview she gave, where she expressed rather revolutionary thoughts about the director Michael Bay.
The English model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley subsequently replaced Megan in the explosive blockbuster series.
In an explosive interview with the Wonderland Magazine in the same year the sequel was released, she said: “He is like Napoleon and he longs for an insane, notorious mad-man reputation.
She goes on to describe him as ‘Hitleresque’ and a demanding dictator-like figure on his movie sets. But when Bay steps off the set, she describes him as a socially awkward individual who is endearing and intriguing to watch.”
Steven Spielberg advised Michael Bay to instantaneously drop Fox from the cast following her unconventional comparisons to Hitler, as was later revealed.
An open letter from the film’s crew subsequently surfaced, labeling Fox as “dull as a stone” and “monotonous” to work with.
While Megan’s outstanding talent has graced 10 films and four television shows, including “New Girl”, her recent works haven’t been equally successful.
Unfortunately, one of her films, “Passion Play”, released in 2011, received an overwhelmingly disheartening score of three per cent on Rotten Tomatoes.
During a recent interaction with Cosmopolitan, Megan revealed: โ[Being ousted from Transformers] was a tremendous setback in my career. However, not facing the adversity, I would not have learned the lessons I did. All I had to do was apologize – and I refused. I was blinded by self-righteousness at 23, I could not recognise that my actions were for the common good. I genuinely perceived myself as a martyr.”
During a deeply emotional interview, Megan also revealed intimate aspects of her relationship with her husband Brian Austin Green, the father of her three children.
Previously reported to be on the verge of a breakup, Megan later “rescinded their divorce petition”, according to several U.S publications.
Recently, she confided to the magazine her intentions of bidding adieu to acting altogether.
