Commanding attention with her stunning figure, Dua Lipa recently treated fans with some behind-the-scenes glimpses from her freshly minted music video for her latest single, ‘Illusion’.
The 28-year-old British sensation, who announced her third studio album ‘Radical Optimism’ in March, is seen storming the scene in a seductive thong bodysuit. ‘Illusion’ is set to join the album as the third single, succeeding ‘Training Day’ and ‘Houdini’, which were released in February and November 2023, respectively.
Displaying her characteristic showmanship, Dua is pictured in the captivating Instagram posts striding up a staircase lined with dancers attired in black shorts and white vests, striking casual stances.
The debut of ‘Illusion’ was heralded on April 4 with Dua sharing a sneak peek of the song along with its artwork. Later, on a Monday, she delighted her massive following of nearly 90 million followers by sharing both solo and group shots of herself with her backup dancers, all dressed in eye-catching costumes.
With a tantalizing caption that read, ‘ILLUSION IS YOURS ON THURSDAY!!! LETโS DANCE’, she created quite a stir.
Echoing the anticipation of her fans, Dua – a Grammy Award winner thrice-over, previously unveiled that ‘Radical Optimism’ is slated to hit streaming platforms for listening or purchase on May 3, and it will be loaded with 11 enticing tracks.
Rolling Stone has already lauded the album as ‘pop bliss’, stating its essence to be ‘uniquely and utterly Dua Lipa: confident dance pop full of witty Instagram-caption-ready one-liners’. ‘Radical Optimism’ comes in the succession of Duaโs debut album ‘Dua Lipa’ that was unveiled in 2017 and ‘Future Nostalgia’, dropped in 2020.
Discussing the ideation behind the album’s title, Dua revealed, ‘A couple years ago, a friend introduced me to the term Radical Optimism. Itโs a concept that resonated with me, and I became more curious as I started to play with it and weave it into my life.’ She further shared that the concept alluded to the ability of navigating chaos gracefully, with the conviction of enduring any storm.
Her exploration in the realms of psychedelia, trip hop, and Britpop, all filled with optimistic confidence, turned out to be equally significant inspirations during her recording sessions.
