They confidently stepped onto the red carpet in New York City on September 12, shortly after dismissing speculations about their engagement. The star of “Jennifer’s Body” stole the show in a stunning sheer dress, while her “Bloody Valentine” rockstar partner cut a sharp figure in a striking red suit.
During the MTV pre-show chat about their highly fashionable ensembles, Machine Gun Kelly, whose real name is Colson Baker, highlighted their equal involvement in picking their looks. He said, “It’s 50-50, like this one she took the lead and I get the pleasure of having her on my arm all night and she’s beautiful.”
Baker was slated to light up the stage performing his latest hit “Papercuts” alongside Travis Barker, the Blink-182 legend. Interestingly, the two friends found themselves as contenders in the same category — “Best Alternative” at the award show. Baker’s collaboration with blackbear, “my ex’s best friend,” earned him a nomination, while Barker was acknowledged for the track “t r a n s p a r e n t s o u l” with WILLOW.
Despite vying for the same award, the spirit of camaraderie shone brightly between Baker, 31, and Barker, 45. It seemed like another exciting double date night at the VMAs for the pals and their glamorous companions, Fox and Kourtney Kardashian.
